Are there border restrictions for international travelers?

Currently, there are no travel restrictions to enter Canada, please refer to the policies and directives set forth by the Government of Canada for more information.

Do I have to be vaccinated to attend CBIE2022?

There is no requirement for you to be vaccinated to attend CBIE2022.

Do I have to wear a mask at CBIE2022?

There is no requirement to wear a mask, however, if you feel more comfortable doing so, then please wear one.

Will there be hand sanitizer on site?

There are sanitization stations throughout the venue and at the registration desk.

Do I need to keep socially distanced?

Social distancing is not always possible. CBIE is providing buttons that attendees can wear that demonstrate their level of comfort with personal contact. Buttons will be available at registration.

What cleaning and sanitation protocols does the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel follow?

What about transport to the social events?

The buses for the Welcome Reception are deep cleaned prior to and after any trip. There is no requirement for you to wear a mask, however, if you feel more comfortable doing so, then please wear one.

What should I do if I start feeling unwell?

If you are feeling unwell, you can take the Ontario COVID Self-Assessment and follow the guidance based on your symptoms.

What should I do if I test positive for COVID at CBIE2022? 

If you get a positive result on a COVID‑19 test, you should self-isolate immediately, except to get health care. If you develop severe symptoms requiring medical attention, such as shortness of breath or chest pain, call 911 and inform them that you have tested positive for COVID‑19 or go to the nearest emergency department, which is the Toronto General Hospital.

Who should I tell if I test positive for COVID at CBIE2022? 

Any positive COVID tests while attending CBIE2022 must be reported to the conference organizers at conference-congres@cbie.ca.

What should I do if I test positive immediately after CBIE2022 and suspect I was positive during the conference? 

Any positive COVID tests can be reported to the conference organizers at conference-congres@cbie.ca. If you are an international attendee, please refer to your country’s guidance around reporting positive COVID tests.

Where can I find medical assistance or COVID tests onsite?

A Wellness Hub, provided by Student VIP, is accessible to all conference attendees and is located outside of the main ballroom. A virtual nurse will be available. You can also speak to your hotel’s front desk about the best way to see a doctor.
